LIFETIME CERTIFICATION

A lifetime certification may be issued to an applicant once the following requirements have been met:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

A. Hold the position of tax collector or treasurer for ten years.

B. Have applied and been approved for re-certification at least twice.

C. Be a member in good standing to the Maine Tax Collectors’ & Treasurers’ Association (MMTCTA) for a period of ten years.

D. Be current in all payments to the MMTCTA.

E. Hold the position of Director or Officer for the Board of Directors of the MMTCTA for at least one term.

F. Submitted at least one article for the MMTCTA newsletter.

ALTERNATIVES:

The certification committee of the Board of Directors of the Maine Municipal Tax Collectors’ & Treasurers’ Association may accept alternate services as follows:

A. Instructed any of the mandatory classes as outlined on the certification or re-certification application.

B. Received a four-year college degree in Accounting.
