Posted by David Kinney, Lincolnville, September 22, 2005:The Lincolnville Board of Selectmen are considering pursuing the establishment of term limits for committee members.  Does your community have term limits for the members of your committees?  If so, what are the limits?

Responses: We do not have limits.(Laurie Boucher, Richmond)

We do not have limits. In our town, term limits would be very bad for our apathetic citizenry.  No one would run! They (the citizens) have re-elected basically the same board for many years for the following reasons.  1)no one else seems to want the job  2.)our board seems to be pretty conservative with the tax payers $ ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality) (Paula Clark, Newport)

The Town of Lyman has several term limits. The term for committee appointments is 3 years.  The selectmen try to stagger appointments in order to keep a full committees. (Anne Bishop, Lyman)
