Do towns have verizon (Centrex) or do you have another company
for your regular phone lines? We currently have Centrex and will have a penalty
to get out of it. I wasn't sure if there is a better solution for us. Thank
you.
Responses:
The Town of Searsport is currently using Verizon as its primary phone service but our long distance is with One Star (Sandra Blake, Searsport)
The Town of Newry uses the local Oxford West for everything. (Retta Berry, Newry)
Lamoine uses Choice One for phone service. Rate is a little less expensive than Verizon, and service has been easier to get. (Stu Marckoon, Lamoine)
lightship communications may be a better solution for you...local and long distance...they may also be willing to help with the buy-out of your remaining obligation to verizon... (Paul Caruso, Topsham)
The Town of Lisbon waited until its contract with Verizon was
over, then we went with Lightship. We previously had onestar for long distance.
Lightship is much cheaper than Verizon , but initially there were a few problems.
They took care of everything and it is going quite well now. (Mary Ann Morgan,
Lisbon)
