I have been approach by First American for the town to use the Trio Software to extract tax information to their company. First American has offered to pay fees to have that option. My only reservation is that they use it for contacting residents. I personally hate receiving junk mail or sales calls from these companies. Anyone have an opinion to share with me? It would really be appreciated.
Responses: We have used it here at Veazie and it works quite well. (Julie Reed, Veazie)
Here is the answer I got from First American. It may help make the decision easier. (Evelyn Serval, Etna)
We do receive the billing file from the Trio Collections program twice a year from the town which should reduce calls on paid data. If this is not the case then please let me know so we can research if there is an issue on our end. The billing file itself does provide some assessment data fields but it is minimal. The assessment export would provide us more data fields which would ensure that we are accurate with identifying properties under service. We would not be utilizing the information for selling or mailing, strictly for in house research. We would only be requesting an assessment file once a year.
