Does anyone have an updated Proof of Excise Form for Documented Boats. Ours has been copied so many times that it is starting to look pretty bad plus it still says that a copy should be sent to IF&W but they say they don't want them.
Responses:This Carline from the Town of Glenburn and I wanted to let you know that we do not have a proof of excise tax form for the documented boats. I have ordered new excise tax stickers for 2010, IF&W DO NOT WANT ANY PAPER WORK FROM US. So we just collect the excise issue a sticker and nothing goes to IF & W. (Carline Dube, Glenburn)
This is Rose from the Town of Kennebunkport. A couple of years ago I created a reminder notice for documented boat owners. Included on our reminder notices are the owner's name, address, vessel name and ID number. In the past we relied on documented boat owners to come in and pay the excise tax themselves. Unfortunately not everyone came in to do this and most of them felt that we didn't even know that they had a documented boat. This reminder notice process has worked out very well for us. Good Day Mary, What we send out is not a bill but a reminder notice, although I guess you could think of it as a bill. I have attached a copy of our reminder notice and a copy of our documented Boat Excise Tax Form that the customer must fill out. When the Excise form is complete the customer will receive a copy of the form but not the original. Every year we create a new folder for all our documented boats processed in that year.
