Posted by David Little, Bangor, March 4, 2010:

I was wonder if anyone had an RFP or agreement that handled your outgoing mail services.  This would include picking up metered (if you run it through a meter yourself first) or unmetered mail, presorting the mail for postage discounts, etc. Also, does anyone have an RFP for printing and mailing tax bills or other large mailings?  This would include the printing, stuffing, presorting for mail discounts and the actual mailing. We currently do everything in house and I want to see what we might be able to save by outsourcing.

Responses: We use Hygrade Business Group out of Waterville for mailing our tax bills.  They print, stuff and mail for us.  My contact is Michael Parker,  800-243-7992 ext 201  or mpaker@hygradebusiness.com (Christy Sirois, St. Agatha)

We've used Hygrade as well for about five years with good results. (Deborah Ouellette, Presque Isle)

Town of Standish also uses Hygrade.  Good service. (Scott Gesuldi, Standish)

The Town of Hampden utilizes Snowman Printing in Hermon for our Tax and Sewer Billing. Not only are they competitive price wise - they are responsive, work with us to 'personalize' our billings, and convenient. We email the file and they handle the rest promptly. We use TRIO for tax and sewer so I know that they are conversant with that format. I would suggest you contact Rich Armstrong at Snowman's (848-7300) if you want further information. (Sue Lessard, Hampden)
