I am trying to compile information about what other Towns and Municipalities do about Health Insurance, and I am wondering if your employees have to pay a percentage of the cost for health insurance and if so what that percentage is and if it varies for different levels of coverage.

Responses:

Dedham covers full medical (Traditional POS-A) and dental for employees working 35 hours per week or more.  Of employees add family members, they pick up the additional expense. (Michelle Begin, Dedham)

Brewer participates in the Maine Municipal Health Trust POS-C plan. Non-union employees contribute 20% of the premium.

Union employees contribute 0% for single coverage, 15% for employee and children, and 22% for employee & spouse/family coverage. We also offer a stipend for employees that can provide proof of coverage through another provider (like their spouse's plan).  These employees receive 45% of the City's cost of single level coverage.  (Karen Fussell, Brewer)
