Posted by Laurie Boucher, Richmond, May 15, 2007: How many towns give a portion or all of their State Snowmobile Reimbursement to their local snowmobile club?
Responses: NORTH YARMOUTH GIVE ALL BACK TO THE 2 LOCAL CLUBS (Debbie Allen, North Yarmouth)
In Manchester , we give all our reimbursement to the local snowmobile club. (Darlene Beaulieu, Manchester)
It is the same in Fryeburg---it all goes (Phil Covelli, Fryeburg)
Waterville gives all the money received to the snowmobile club. (Linda Cote, Waterville)
Town of Newry gives all back to the club. (Loretta Powers, Newry)
Guilford returns 100% to the club. (Tom Goullette, Guilford)
Likewise - Dover-Foxcroft - 100% to local (Barbara Moore, Dover-Foxcroft)
In Lewiston we make an annual lump sum donation to the snowmobile clubs. We do not give the whole state reimbursement.
(Paul Labrecque, Lewiston)
In Rangeley we make a lump sum donation of $40k to the snowmobile club. (Scott Gesuldi, Rangeley)
Thorndike gives 100% to the snowmobile club (Bonnie Kearns, Thorndike)
In Levant, we gave 75% of the previous year's balance. Here in Naples, I budget the total balance of the previous year's State check. (Derik Goodine, Naples)
On a similar note...what is the amount of your refunds?(Ryan Pelletier, St. Agatha)
About $2,400. I am sure much much less than you snow country towns.(Derik Goodine)
We received $1085.68 which we gave 1/2 to the snowmobile club.(Laurie Boucher)
It has to be a town meeting vote if these funds are given to a snowmobile club. Solon votes every year to give the full amount to the club. (Town of Solon)
SAME WITH BRIDGTON (Mitch Berkowtiz, Bridgton)
