Posted by Scott Gesuldi, Rangeley, August 8, 2007:Does anyone know how to compute the percentage that must be on tax bills that states "without state aid for education and state revenue sharing, your tax bill would have been X% higher." Do I just take what we anticipate for education aid and revenue sharing out of anticipated revenues and then use that commitment number difference from the original commitment amount and divide it to get a percentage? Any help would be appreciated.
Responses:Here's the information that is on MMA's website. (Laurie Boucher, Richmond)
When you received the new forms for this years tax commitment, you should have gotten the calculation sheet. If you can not find that, provide me with your fax and I will send it to you. Other option is to go online to email prop.tax.maine.gov and they can send the forms to you via email. (Eva Leavitt, Turner) (Go to State Tax Forms Page)
