Posted by Heidi Sherburne, Carrabassett Valley, June 21, 2006:We recently converted from DOS-based Trio to Windows-based Trio. Just wondering what people are using for printers for the Windows-based. Our assessor prefers and has always printed commitment & valuation books on green bar, but with windows it now takes hours to print out one report on the dot matrix. We are looking into a duplexing laser. Also, for those printing out property cards, what type of printer and card stock?

Responses: In Gouldsboro we have everything networked to our Xerox copier.  All windows documents are printed through the copier, including commitment, valuation books, tax bills, mv reports, word, excel.....it prints about a bizzillion (not really, but it is very fast) copies per minute.  Eve Wilkinson, 963-5589

We converted over to Windows last March...and we love it....The office has a copier-RICOH- It's great...we fax through it and print off all reports, Tax bills...It only took @ 1 hours to do everything...I did how never used the old Dot matrix printer for the Tax commitment book...But then I used the carbon paper also..giving us a copy for the assessor and 1 for the front counter use... I think this is what we're going to do... network out copier. Thank you! (Heidi Sherburne)
